When it comes to framing, there are so many options at your fingertips - whether it’s online, in person, or custom framing - and something to match every budget.
For original watercolours and fine art prints, you’ll need to frame with glass or plastic - it protects the artwork better, and will give it a longer lifetime. That said - you don’t have to break the bank to find good quality framing options. Head to Kmart, Officeworks or Target for more budget-friendly options, Ikea for a slightly more decorative approach and Freedom, Country Road or other furniture and homewares stores for more bougie style.

Unless you look closely, you wouldn’t know the difference…
If you’ve got your eye on an acrylic piece, they come with a protective varnish that seals the surface with a UV resistant coating. My acrylic pieces are framed - but if you’re after something more bespoke, lets have a chat - or you can speak with a trusted framer for their suggestions.
Remember, all artwork is best hung away from direct sunlight, and in a position that’s protected from heat and moisture.
Get the hang of things…
Finding the perfect place to hang your artwork is one thing - but how do you hang it? We’re a particularly tall household - but there’s a general rule to follow, so it’s not too high or low for anyone taking in the beauty of your piece. Ideally, it’s best to hang the artwork so the centre of it is between 145-150cm or so from the floor. If you’re not confident in the placement of it, I’ve got a little hack for you - cut out a piece of paper the same size, and pop it on the wall or space you want to hang it - and leave it there. It’ll give you a great sense of how the placement is for you and others, and most importantly - if it’s the RIGHT placement.
